Detailed Solution

General Musharraf changed his designation from Chief Executive to President.
On October 12, 1999, General Pervez Musharraf launched a bloodless military coup to depose Pakistan's democratically elected government under Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Musharraf, the then Chief of Army Staff and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, declared himself the country's 'Chief Executive'. On October 14 1999, two days after taking government control into his own hands, General Musharraf proclaimed a state of emergency by issuing a Provisional Constitutional Order suspending the writ of the Pakistani Constitution. However, later on, he changed his designation from the Chief Executive to the "President" of the country.
