General Parvez Musharraf belonged to Pakistan.
He was an Army General of the military of Pakistan, and he rose to become the President of the country in 1999. However, he was not elected head of the country. He came to power by overthrowing the democratically elected government of Pakistan. He declared himself the “chief executive” of the country, and later in 2002; he conducted a referendum. The Referendum granted him an extension of five years to remain president of Pakistan.
