Germany became a dictatorship as a result of the Enabling Act of 1933. It provided Hitler with unlimited power, sidelining the Parliament. It also allowed Hitler to rule by decree. It also banned all political parties and trade unions except Nazi parties and their allies. It also established complete control over the economy, media, administration, army, and judiciary by the state. Special surveillance and special forces were created, and the existing police system was given extra-constitutional power. These forces gave the Nazi state the title of the most dreaded criminal state.
