Ghazani attacked Somnath temple to plunder wealth. In 1025 AD, Mahmud Ghazani stormed Kathiawad's Somnath temple in Gujarat. In 1026 AD, the Somnath temple was demolished. He robbed the Somnath temple to increase his money because he knew Hindu temples were brimming with it. He had conquered India with the intention of acquiring wealth by robbing it. Afghanistan's ruler was Mahmud of Ghazni. He was Turkish and desired greater control over additional areas. He launched 17 attacks on India. It was the country's first Turkish invasion.
