Detailed Solution

Giuseppe Mazzini belonged to the liberal group of revolutionaries
In the years following 1815, many liberal-nationalists went into hiding out of fear of repression. Many European nations saw the rise of secret societies to educate revolutionaries and spread their ideologies. At this time, being a revolutionary meant dedication to fight for liberty and freedom while fighting the monarchical systems that had been put in place following the Vienna Congress. Most of these revolutionaries similarly believed that creating nation-states was essential to the fight for freedom. Giuseppe Mazzini, an Italian revolutionary, was one such person. He was born in Genoa in 1807 and entered the Carbonari, a secret organisation. He was exiled in 1831 as a 24-year-old for plotting a revolt in Liguria.
