Detailed Solution

(i) Cl-CH2COOH is a stronger acid than CH3COOH. This is because -Cl group in Cl-CH2COOH exhibits -I effect. Due to which -ve charge on carboxylate ion get stabilized.

(ii) The lone pair of electrons on the O-atom of -OH group undergoes into resonance. It decreases the electrophilic character. Due to which the partial positive charge on carbonyl carbon atom become less. Therefore, they do not show nucleophilic addition reactions.
