Gymnosperms have a naked ovule.  Pollination is direct as the pollen grains are carried by wind and discharged at the mouth of the ovules located on megasporophylls. The pollen tube grows and  carries the male gametes  towards archegonia in the ovules and discharge their contents near the mouth of the archegonia.
