Given below are two statements. 

Statement I : Fermentation takes place under anaerobic conditions in all prokaryotes, unicellular eukaryotes and germinating seeds.

Statement II : The reactions of alcoholic fermentation in yeast are catalysed by pyruvic acid decarboxylase and alcohol dehydrogenase.

In light of the above statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below. 

Under anaerobic conditions, either lactic acid fermentation or alcohol fermentation occurs. Fermentation takes place under anaerobic conditions in many prokaryotes, unicellular eukaryotes and in germinating seeds.

In fermentation, say by yeast, the incomplete oxidation of glucose is achieved under anaerobic conditions by sets of reactions where pyruvic acid is converted to CO2 and ethanol. The enzymes, pyruvic acid decarboxylase and alcohol dehydrogenase catalyze these reactions.
