Both statement I and statement II are false.
SI: Ligaments and tendons are examples of dense regular connective tissues characterised by the parallel
arrangement of collagen fibres.
SII: Cartilage is not a dense regular tissue. In dense irregular connective tissue,
the collagen fibres are arranged in a random and irregular pattern. This gives the tissue greater strength
and resistance to tension in multiple directions. Dense irregular connective tissue is found in the dermis of the skin, fibrous capsules of the kidneys, liver, cartilage (perichondrium) and bone (periosteum), brain (dura mater) and heart (fibrous pericardium). Cartilage, bone, blood and lymph are specialised connective tissues. Cartilage
and bone are collectively termed skeletal tissues. They have a rigid matrix and make up the skeletal system. Blood and lymph are collectively termed fluid connective tissue.
