Giving water to the crop is known as Irrigation.
Irrigation is the agricultural process by which crops are watered. Irrigation is done when the rainwater does not suffice for farming. People water crops manually by using hose pipes or technical tools. There are both traditional and modern techniques of irrigation. People give water on small pieces of land using hose pipes, while on big chunks of land, they use different modern techniques, such as sprinklers fixed at the centre of the field, which sprinkles water in all directions. Another technique is drip irrigation, in which pipes are laid on the whole land, and water is dripped directly into the roots of the crops.
