Detailed Solution

One of the oldest and longest main roads in South Asia, and not only in India, is the Grand Trunk Road. The 2,500 kilometer long Sadak-e-Azam (Great Road) is also known as "Gernelli Sadak" or "Road of the Generals". It was built by Sher Shah Suri. It currently stretches from Kolkata to Amritsar. The National Highways NH-1 from Delhi to Amritsar and NH-2 from Delhi to Kolkata form the first and second sections.
So option 1 is correct.
