Detailed Solution

A heavy object does not fall faster than a light object because they both fall under the influence of the same gravity.
As per Newton's law of gravitation, "every particle in the universe is drawn towards every other particle with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to their distance from one another." Every object falls from a height with a constant acceleration known as gravity's acceleration (g). Since this is constant on Earth, the value of "g" is independent of an object's mass. Therefore, in the absence of air resistance, heavier items do not fall more quickly than lightweight ones.
