Detailed Solution

Gurmukhi was developed in the time of Guru Angad.
He succeeded Guru Nanak as the second Guru of the Sikhs. His original name was Lehna, but he later adopted the name Guru Angad to symbolise his connection to Guru Nanak. The songs of Guru Nanak were collected by Guru Angad, who also contributed his own songs in a unique script known as Gurmukhi. The script used to write Sindhi and predominantly Punjabi is known by the name Gurumukhi. The usage of these letters to transcribe the teachings from the (Sikh) Gurus' "mukhs" (literally, "mouth or lips") appears to have given rise to the term "Gurmukhi".
