Detailed Solution

Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan were the rulers of Mysore.
Haider Ali was the state's soldier initially and then became the Mysore state's faujdar. Finally, Haider Ali overthrew Nanjarajar from power and usurped the authority of Mysore. Hence Haider Ali became the Sultan of Mysore in 1761. Haider Ali fought two battles with the Britishers and died during the Second Anglo-Mysore war. After that, his son Tipu sultan became the Sultan of Mysore in 1782 and continued the Second Anglo Mysore war, which ended with the Treaty of Mangalore in 1784.
