Hastorial roots are seen in parasitic plants . Parasitic plants sends haustorial roots into the xylem of the  host plant to obtain water ( partial parasites) Ex- Viscum , Striga . Some  parasitic plants sends both xylem and phloem into the host plant to obtain water and food materials ( complete parasites) Ex- Rafflesia , Cuscuta .
