The Hauz Khas has a water tank, a mosque, a mausoleum, and canopies constructed around an urbanised community that traces its existence from the Delhi Sultanate period. Illtutmish built it to supply water to Hauz Khas water which is also used for domestic and irrigation purposes in the city.
