Detailed Solution

Haversian canals are tubular structures that are present on the external part of the bones and are highly vascularized. These canals tend to run parallel to each other and they contain a nerve, a blood vessel and a lymph vessel. These canals are connected to each other by a channel of transverse canals called the Volkmann’s canals. These canals are also used for the transmission of blood. They help in the transfer of nutrients to the osteons or the bone cells that are present in the Haversian canals.

Hence, the correct option is B.
