Tipu Sultan, commonly known as the Tiger of Mysore, was the king of the Kingdom of Mysore in South India from 1 December 1751 to 4 May 1799. He was born as Sultan Fateh Ali Sahab Tipu. He helped develop rocket artillery. He ruled Mysore till 1799, engaged in four conflicts with the British, and passed away while still holding his sword.
