Hind Swaraj book in 1909 was written by Mahatma Gandhi.Gandhi only published one book in Gujarati, which he also translated. Gandhi personally answers as the "Reader" and poses questions as the "Editor" in Hind Swaraj, which is presented as a conversation. In that sense, it is a Socratic or Platonic work. He does claim that it is an accurate account of the talks he had with someone in South Africa, but it is clear that this claim is only an attempt to contextualise already established queries and responses. Hind Swaraj is less of a book and more of a pamphlet.
