Detailed Solution

Hjalmar Schacht was an Economist.
Hitler assigned the economist Hjalmar Schacht full responsibility for Germany's economic recovery after he became the dictator. This decision was a part of Hitler's reconstruction efforts. Hjalmar Schacht supervised the state-funded work-creation programme, which facilitated full employment. This project was also responsible for producing the renowned German superhighways and the Volkswagen, the people's car. Hitler was successful in foreign policy as well. After pulling out of the League of Nations in 1933, in 1936, Hitler reoccupied the Rhineland. Under the slogan "One People, One Empire, and One Leader," he integrated Germany and Austria in 1938. These were quick successes, but they were to change the country's destiny for the worse. Hjalmar Schacht had advised Hitler against huge investments in rearmament as the state was still running on deficit financing. Hitler asserted that cautious people had no room in Nazi Germany. Thus, Hjalmar Schacht had no other option but to leave.
