How are cancer cells different from normal cells?

(a) Name the lymphoid organ in humans where all the blood cells are produced.
(b) Where do the lymphocytes produced by the lymphoid organ mentioned above migrate and how do they affect immunity?

Cancer cells divide continuously and uncontrolled manner but normal cells do not. Cancer cells do not show differentiation but normal cells show differentiation. Cancer cells accumulate and form tumors. Cancer cells are not confined to one part as they invade the neighboring tissue and disturb the function and can form secondary tumors by spreading throughout the body called metastasis.

(a) Bone marrow is the primary lymphoid organ in which all blood cells are produced.

(b) In the bone marrow, lymphocytes are produced and travel to secondary lymphoid organs like the spleen, lymph nodes, etc. where they are active against pathogens. The secondary lymphoid organs trap the microorganisms thereby activating the lymphocytes and produce an immune response.
