Detailed Solution

Unicellular organisms usually perform asexual reproduction, but multicellular organisms have both sexual and asexual modes of reproduction.

In unicellular organisms, binary or multiple fission and budding are commonly seen. They do not involve fusion of genetic material and the offspring are genetically identical to their parent.

As in case of multicellular organisms, asexual reproduction is seen in the form of fragmentation, budding, vegetative propagation and regeneration. But in case of higher multicellular organisms, we commonly see sexual reproduction where gametes produced by two individuals of different sexes fuse to produce the offspring that is genetically different from its parents.
