Detailed Solution

Based on their exhaustibility, resources are classified as renewable and non-renewable.
1)      Renewable or replenishable resources can be replenished or replicated by physical, chemical, or mechanical processes—for instance, water, forests, wildlife, solar and wind energy, etc. Further classifications of renewable resources include continuous and flow.
2)      Non-renewable resources occur over a highly long geological period. Such resources include, for example, minerals and fossil fuels. The creation of these resources takes millions of years. While specific resources, such as metals, can be recycled, others, such as fossil fuels, cannot be recycled and become depleted after use.
