The British managed to persuade the rebel landowners in Awadh to submit with securities and benefits.
Saadat Ali Khan, the monarch of Awadh, was turned into a puppet by the British. The dismal rural living circumstances imposed by the British led to the horrors that had begun to occur in Awadh. The British were in charge of the entire government. Land revenue served as Awadh's economic and political foundation. This is the reason the British implemented a lot of reforms in this area that was not particularly beneficial to the populace. The excessive land rents that the talukdars and landlords of Awadh demanded from the peasants, who benefited from the British, were the cause of the peasant uprising there. Baba Ram Chandra was in charge of the peasants.
The British were successful in forcing the rebel landowners to submit using the following tactics:
1)      The landowners received the ability to pass on their property to future generations. They would now be able to exercise their traditional rights to their land.
2)      They were exempt from paying taxes to the British.
3)      If they remained faithful to the British, a prize was guaranteed.
