Detailed Solution

The First World War brought enormous revenues for Indian industrialists.  In 1920 and 1927, they established the Indian Industries and Commercial Congress. They founded the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The Civil Disobedience Movement was backed by Purshotamdas, Thakurdas, and G D Birla, who criticised colonial control over the Indian economy. They provided financial support but would not purchase or exchange imported products. Most businessmen began to view the swaraj age as one in which trade and industry would prosper free from colonial restraints.
