●        Nomadic pastoralists and their livestock continued to move from place to place. Milk and other pastoral products were their main sources of nutrition.
●        They also traded wool, ghee, and other products with settled agriculturists in exchange for grain, textiles, utensils, and other goods. They purchased and sold these items as they traveled from one location to the next, transporting them on their animals.
●        The Banjaras were nomadic traders who bought grain where it was cheap and moved it to where it was more expensive. They then reloaded their oxen with anything else that could be sold economically elsewhere.
●        As a result, they were crucial in connecting India to the rest of the world. Many pastoral tribes raised and sold animals to the wealthy, such as cattle and horses. Petty peddlers of various castes wandered from one village to another.
●        Ropes, reeds, and other products were created and sold by them. Mendicants took on the role of wandering merchants. There were also entertainer castes that made a living by performing in various towns and villages.
