Detailed Solution

To convert category values into angles for a pie chart, follow these steps:

  • Find the Total of All Values
    Add up all the category values to get the total.
    Example: If you have 3 categories with values 20, 30, and 50 →
    Total = 20 + 30 + 50 = 100
  • Find the Fraction of Each Category
    Divide each category value by the total.
    Example: For the first category → 20 ÷ 100 = 0.2
  • Convert the Fraction into an Angle
    Multiply the fraction by 360° (because a circle has 360°).
    Example: 0.2 × 360° = 72°
  • Repeat for All Categories
    Do this for each category to find its corresponding angle.

Example

CategoryValueFractionAngle
A2020 ÷ 100 = 0.20.2 × 360° = 72°
B3030 ÷ 100 = 0.30.3 × 360° = 108°
C5050 ÷ 100 = 0.50.5 × 360° = 180°

When you draw the pie chart, make sure all angles add up to 360°.
