How do the Western Ghats and Eastern Ghats differ in biodiversity and wildlife?

The Western Ghats have richer biodiversity and more endemic species compared to the Eastern Ghats.

• Western Ghats: Tropical evergreen forests, tigers, elephants, lion-tailed macaques, amphibians, and rare plants. Declared one of the world’s eight “hottest biodiversity hotspots.”
• Eastern Ghats: Dry deciduous forests, leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs, and fewer endemic species. Less diverse compared to the Western Ghats.
