Detailed Solution

Non uniform acceleration means the rate of change of velocity is not the same at every instant of time.

If an object’s velocity changes by unequal amounts in equal intervals of time, it is said to have non uniform acceleration. This happens when a car moves in traffic, when a rocket is launched, or when an object falls through air with resistance. Unlike uniform acceleration, where the rate of change is constant, non uniform acceleration can vary and may even change direction.

Examples:

  • A car speeding up and slowing down in city traffic
  • Rocket launch
  • Raindrop falling through air
