⇒ log 2 (x+2) (x−5) =3  
⇒   2 3 = (x+2) (x−5) ⇒8= (x+2) (x−5) ⇒8(x−5)=(x+2)  
⇒ 8x – 40 = x + 2
⇒ 8x – x = 2 + 40
⇒ 7x = 42
⇒ x= 42 7  
⇒ x = 6
