x^{2} - 324 = 0

Formula:

(a^{2} - b^{2}) = (a + b) (a - b)

First of all we will make the constant term in the form of a square which is 324 in the given quadratic expression.
⇒

x^{2} - (18 \times 18) = 0

⇒

x^{2} - 1 8^{2} = 0

.............(1)
We will use the formula mentioned above.
⇒

(x + 18) (x - 18) = 0

............(2)
Comparing both the roots with 0, we get
⇒

(x + 18) = 0

⇒

x = - 18

and,
⇒

(x - 18) = 0

⇒

x = 18

Hence, with the help of the formula, we got the solution of the given expression

x^{2} - 324 = 0

x = \pm 18
