How does autumn wood differ from spring wood ?

Activity of vascular cambium shows variations  in temperate region . During favourable conditions vascular cambium activity is more amount of secondary xylem formed will be more . vessels are with wide lumen , this wood is called as early wood are spring wood . During unfavourable conditions vascular cambium activity is less , so amount of secondary xylem formed will be less . Vessels are with narrow lumen , this wood is called late wood or autumn wood .
