How does the Venus flytrap capture insects?

The Venus flytrap captures insects by closing its leaves around the insect.

The Venus flytrap has modified leaves that form a structure called a trap. Each trap has two lobes with sensitive trigger hairs that, when stimulated by an insect or other small prey, cause the trap to close rapidly, trapping the prey inside. The closure of the trap is a quick process, taking less than a second. Once closed, the trap secretes digestive enzymes to break down the insect and absorb its nutrients.
