Detailed Solution

Concept: The distance between planets in our solar system is never constant because no planet orbits the sun in a complete circle. Because of this, we use the average to determine how far apart planets are from one another.
One astronomical unit (AU) , for convenience, is used to denote the average separation between the Earth and the Sun.
An AU is roughly 93 million miles long (150 million km) . It is roughly the distance that light travels in 8 minutes, or we may say that it is roughly equivalent to 8 light minutes.
Therefore, we may conclude that the sun's distance from the earth is not constant and changes over time; we can therefore estimate the average distance as 1 AU.
Mathematically:
We are aware that Saturn's separation from the sun is 14.27 × 108km
Dividing we get Distance in AU =14.27× 1081.496 ×108=9.538 AU
The sun and Saturn are separated by 9.538 AU, or roughly 1.49 billion kilometres.
Hence, the correct answer option (3) .
