Detailed Solution

76 ATP are formed due to aerobic breakdown of a molecule of sucrose (disaccharide with glucose and fructose hexoses). Each hexose oxidation yields 38 ATP . Two hexoses 38 X 2 = 76 ATP. There are 3 substrate level phosphorylation reactions (two in glycolysis and one in Krebs cycle). In each reaction per sucrose yields 4 ATP. Hence 3 substrate level phosphorylations yield 12 ATP.
