Detailed Solution

For CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) counselling, which is primarily for vacant seats in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs after JoSAA rounds, there is generally no upper limit on the number of choices you can fill.

The official CSAB website states: "Candidates can fill in as many choices in the order of preference as they wish to from the list of available choices."

Key points regarding choice filling in CSAB:

  • No Minimum or Maximum Limit: You can fill a single choice or all available choices.
  • Order of Preference: The order in which you list your choices is extremely important. The system will try to allot you the highest possible preference based on your rank and eligibility.
  • Flexibility: You can add, delete, modify, rearrange (move up/down), or even interchange filled choices until the choice locking deadline.
  • Locking Choices: It is mandatory to lock your choices by the specified deadline. If you fail to explicitly lock them, your last saved choices will be automatically locked. However, if no choices are saved, you will not be considered for seat allotment.
