Detailed Solution

The Golgi complex comprising the following four components: Cisternae, vacuoles, vesicles and tubules.

1. Cisternae: These are flattened sacs arranged parallel to each other. Each cisterna is bound by a smooth membrane. Each stack of cisternae is a polarized structure having two faces: proximal or forming face and distal or maturation phase.

2. Golgian vacuoles : These are rounded sac-like structures with large space. They are formed at the distal ends of cisternae by the process of vesiculation of cisterna sacs.

3. Vesicles : They are present at the periphery of cisternae attached to tubules. They are minute droplets like in shape. These are of two types: smooth vesicle and coated vesicle.

4. Tubules: It is a network of fine branched tubular structures.
