Currently, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) has 164 member countries.
WTO is an international intergovernmental organization that supports the liberalization of economies and aims to reduce trade barriers to enhance free trade among nations. It was founded in 1995, and its headquarters is located in Geneva, Switzerland. India signed the general agreement on trade and tariffs on 30 October 1947 to become a member of the WTO. Further, though WTO is supposed to allow free trade for all, in practice, it is seen that the developed countries have unfairly retained trade barriers while forcing developing countries to retract their trade barriers.
