Detailed Solution

Given,
Cost of sugar = Rs.5.75 per kg.
Amount of cheaper sugar = 75kg.
Cost of cheaper sugar = 4.50 per kg.
Cost of the mix sugar = Rs.5.50 per kg.
Let say x kg sugar costing Rs. 5.75 per kgis added.
Total cost =Rs. (5.75x+75)×4.50 Total cost =Rs. (5.75x+337.5)
Total sugar =(x+75) kg Average cost of sugar mixture =Total cost of sugarTotal sugar 5.5=(5.75x+337.5)(x+75)  5.5x+412.5=5.75x+337.5  75=0.25x  x=750.25  x=300 kg Thus, the amount of sugar mixed should be 300kg.
Therefore, the correct option is 2.
