Detailed Solution

There are 22 languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
The Eighth Schedule lists the official languages of India. By adding all these 22 languages to the Constitution, the government has the responsibility to develop and preserve these languages and their use in modern knowledge. There is also a provision that any public service exam, except a particular language exam, can be written in any of these languages. According to Articles 344(1) and 351 of the Constitution of India, 22 languages are recognized in the Eighth Schedule. They are: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Maithili, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
