Detailed Solution

Eight lotuses were there in the tricolour during the Swadeshi movement. The top band was green colour sacred to Muslims, and the middle band golden saffron, a colour sacred to Buddhists and Sikhs. The bottom ring was red, a colour devoted to Hindus. So there were eight lotuses in a row, signifying the eight provinces of British India. Vande Mataram wrote in Devnagari script on the golden centre band. The lotuses appear to be stitched from the photos. On the bottom red stripe was a sun facing the fly and a crescent towards the flag hoist.
