Detailed Solution

There were 93 members from the Princely states in the Constituent Assembly in 1946.
In the Original Constituent Assembly, the total strength was fixed at 389, under the cabinet mission plan in 1946, out of which 296 seats were allocated to the formerly British Provinces and 93 seats were located to the Princely States. Later, The Muslim League Members (hailing from the areas included in Pakistan) withdrew from the constituent Assembly of India. Consequently, the total strength of the assembly came down to 299 as against 389. The strength of formerly British Indian Provinces was reduced from 296 to 229 and those of princely states from 93 to 70.
