On 14 July 1789, 7,000 men and women gathered in front of the town hall.
The city of Paris became turbulent by the movement of troops under the command of the Monarch. People, mainly of the lower estates, gathered from around the country in front of the town hall to form a people's militia. They attacked several government buildings and started searching for arms. Finally, they broke into Bastille Jail, a symbol of the cruelty of the Monarch over the years. People disintegrated it, and thus, the French Revolution officially began.
