It is given that for the floor of a room, length =20 m and breadth =12 m.
It is also given that the carpet to be used is 75cm wide.
We know that 1cm=

\frac{1}{100} m

.
Hence, we can write that,
75cm=75

\times \frac{1}{100}

\Rightarrow 75 cm

=0.75m
We know that, area of the room=length×breadth.
Therefore, area of room =20m×12m

\Rightarrow

Let the length of carpet be x

Area of carpet required= x×0.75

m^{2}

From eq. (1) and (2),
