In humans the primary oocyte divides and form a first polar body and a secondary oocyte. The first polar body, may or may not divide. Secondary oocyte completes meiosis-II and form a second polar body and ovum. All the polar bodies disintegrate. Ovum is the single functional cells produced at the end of oogenesis in humans.
