Detailed Solution

More than 1000 parties are registered with the election commission of India. In fact, by an estimate, about 2858 parties are registered with the Election Commission of India as of 2021. It contains eight national parties, 54 state parties and 2797 unrecognised parties. India has a multi-party system, and it is understandable by the fact that India has always been home to different beliefs and ideologies, even in politics. The freedom struggle still propagated more political doctrines and gave birth to other thoughts in politics and as to what an Independent India should be like. There has always been an abundance of views in the country. What adds to all this is that political parties are formed even based on religious and caste communities. There is the freedom to create political organisations in India.
