Detailed Solution

ten million people were killed in a terrible famine in Bengal.
The company had become the Diwan of Bengal; they were managing their expenses from the collected revenue, but the economy of Bengal was facing a deep crisis. Artisans were forced to sell their goods at low rates and started moving out of their villages. The peasants' dues were so high that they were unable to pay. Artisanal production was at its lowest and in decline; even agriculture production showed the same signs. Then, in 1770, ten million people were killed in a terrible famine in Bengal. Almost one-third of the population perished in that famine.
