How many perpendicular lines can be drawn to a line from a point not on it?

We can draw only one perpendicular line from a line from a point on it. As shown in the figure below.

This is also one of the fundamental axioms of Euclidean geometry, and it states that given a line and a point not on the line, there is exactly one line that passes through the point and is perpendicular to the given line. This perpendicular line forms a right angle with the given line, and it is unique.
