Detailed Solution

There are eight planets in our solar system. Starting from the Sun, they are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. In 2006, Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet because it doesn’t meet all the rules for being a planet. The first four planets are small and rocky, while the last four are large gas or ice giants. All eight planets orbit the Sun due to its strong gravity. Scientists continue to study our solar system to discover more moons, dwarf planets, and other interesting objects beyond Neptune.
