Detailed Solution

Three Satyagraha movements were organised between 1917 and 1918. In 1917, the first one took place in Champaran. It was organised to motivate the peasants to stand against the oppressive Indigo plantation system.
The Second Satyagraha took place in Kheda to support the peasants suffering from a food shortage due to crop failure and a plague epidemic.
The third Satyagraha took place in 1918. It supported the cotton mill workers in Ahmedabad. Cotton mill workers went on a strike against the owners who had refused to pay them higher wages.
